ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Erectile dysfunction can be an embarrassing and debilitating condition that affects a man’s self-esteem and most of all, his sexual relationships. Our Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Treatment clinic in Fort Lauderdale focuses on developing a smart and effective strategy to help men overcome their ED.

Evaluating the cause

Evaluating the Cause of erectile dysfunction includes a long list of issues that include: vascular disease, diabetes mellitus, drugs, hormone imbalances, venous leak, and psychological conditions. Our erectile dysfunction treatment clinic in Fort Lauderdale evaluates not only the physical problems but also the mental issues.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition that affects millions of men every year. It is known to be found in men of any age with varying degrees of severity. There are also numerous causes of erectile dysfunction that can be either physical, mental, habitual, or a combination of many. Though it is incredibly common, it can be uncomfortable to talk about, let alone seek treatment for. That’s why we’ve made it our mission at Florida Men’s Health Center to provide the most personal, respectful, and discreet erectile dysfunction services from our clinic in Fort Lauderdale. We believe that men should feel confident in discussing every aspect of their health and that appropriate treatment should always be pursued without any social stigma.

ED Treatments

ED often simply referred to as impotence, Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the inability to develop or maintain an erection during sexual activity. An erection is caused by increased blood flow to the penis, stimulated by sexual arousal, either mentally or physically induced. There are many different causes of ED, which is also why there are many treatment options and types, outlined below.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that was first used for healing broken bones and injured ligaments, but its applications now extend to ED. Shockwave therapy helps ED because of its wound healing abilities. By using targeted high-energy sound waves, shockwave therapy can speed up tissue repair and cell growth. Erections rely on blood flow to the penile tissue, and if there is not enough blood flow, weaker erections occur. With its wound healing abilities, shockwave therapy can repair and strengthen blood vessels in the penis. If someone’s ED is due to weak or damaged blood vessels, shockwave therapy offers a way to correct the problem and improve blood flow. Shockwave therapy involves a wand-like device that is placed near different areas of the penis. For 15 minutes, the device is moved along the penis while it emits gentle pulses, which trigger improved blood flow and tissue remodeling.

P-SHOT

The P-shot consists of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy injected into the penis. For this treatment, your own cells are collected and transformed into a serum rich in platelets before being injected back into the penile tissue. The P-shot promotes tissue growth, increases blood flow, repairs tissue and cells responses, and creates new neural pathways.

TRI-MIX

Tri-mix combines three medications, papaverine, phentolamine, and prostaglandin E1. These medications can help improve blood vessel circulation, and when injected into the penis, they help induce erections. After injecting tri-mix, your penis should begin to swell within five to 15 minutes, and many men can achieve an erection with foreplay. This treatment provides an immediate solution for ED but must be used each time before engaging in sexual activities.

ORAL MEDICINE

While Sildenafil (Viagra) is the most common and well-known oral medicine for ED treatment, it is not the only option. Other medications include tadalafil (Cialis), avanafil (Stendra), and vardenafil (Levitra). All of these oral medicines aim to improve blood flow to the penis, but not everyone reacts to each medicine in the desired way, so your doctor will work with you to find the best choice for you.

HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

Hormone replacement therapy supplies the body with more testosterone, which is the male hormone responsible for the male sexual response—your desire for sex and the mechanics of triggering an erection. This treatment is not for everyone and is only beneficial for men who have low testosterone levels.

PEPTIDES

Many peptide treatments are available to treat a wide range of conditions, including ED. Also known as Bremelanotide, PT-141 is a synthetic peptide that helps treat sexual dysfunction. In particular, PT-141 helps to increase sexual desire. It has benefits such as increased libido, greater sexual gratification, stronger penile erections, and mood enhancement. The team at Florida Men’s Health Center creates a customized plan for each patient. With the many causes and treatments for ED, the treatment that works for one individual may not work for another. We take care to properly weigh the pros and cons, maintenance schedule, and ability to stick with a treatment with every patient to be sure that everyone is using the treatment that works best for their body and lifestyle.
